The Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen OO Oluyede, has emphasized the Nigerian Army's commitment to safeguarding the nation's peace and security.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Chief of Army Staff First Bi-Annual Conference 2025 in Maiduguri on Thursday, Oluyede highlighted the importance of strategic foresight and operational alignment in addressing security challenges.
The conference, themed to discuss topical issues and develop practical solutions, aims to strengthen the Army's effectiveness in combating terrorism and other security threats.
Oluyede noted that the terrorists have adopted new strategies to shape the battlespace in their favor, resulting in the loss of brave soldiers.
Despite these challenges, the Chief of Army Staff assured that the Nigerian Army's victory against terrorism is absolute.
He commended the commitment and support of the political leadership, particularly President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and expressed gratitude to state governors, heads of services, and institutions for their contributions to the fight against terrorism.
Oluyede also emphasized the importance of inter-agency cooperation and collaboration with other security agencies, highlighting its multiplier effect on operations.
He urged participants to continue their constructive deliberations, identifying areas for improvement and developing practical solutions to enhance the Army's effectiveness.
The conference is expected to deliver strategic insights and operational alignment, ultimately contributing to the Nigerian Army's efforts to safeguard the nation's peace and security.
