The Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla, paid an operational visit to the Naval Base in Lake Chad, Baga, Borno State, after landing at the Air Force Base in Maiduguri.

He proceeded to the Naval Base located in Baga town, Kukawa Local Government Area.

During his visit, Admiral Ogalla commended the troops for repelling a recent attack by ISWAP terrorists on the base.

He charged them to take the war to the enemy, ensuring they are silenced and preventing further attacks.

The CNS emphasized the strategic importance of the base in the Nigerian Navy's contribution to counter-insurgency in the North East.

He assured the troops that manpower issues would be addressed, following the recent deployment of 200 additional personnel to the base.

He promised to provide necessary resources to support the troops in protecting lives and properties, urging them to defend the nation as the lifeline of defence.

According to him, the visit is aimed to assess the capability and challenges faced by the troops, particularly regarding the recent attack.

The CNS commended their efforts, saying, 'Anytime the enemy comes to attack the base, they will think twice.'

Few days ago, terrorists launched an attack to the Naval Base but the troops repelled the attacked.
