The troops of Operation Hadin Kai have successfully thwarted an attack by JAS/ISWAP terrorists in Bitta, Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State.
The attack, which occurred at approximately 10:25PM on July 27, 2025, saw the terrorists advancing from the Damboa axis and briefly breaching the defensive perimeter.
This was disclosed in a statement obtained from the official Facebook page of the Nigerian Army on Tuesday.
In the statement, the troops swiftly responded with intense firepower, overpowering the attackers and neutralizing several of them.
The security forces also recovered AK-47 rifles from the scene, a testament to their professionalism and effectiveness and no casualties were recorded among the troops.
Following the incident, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 7 Division, accompanied by key commanders, visited Bitta on July 28, 2025, to assess the situation.
The GOC ordered the immediate remobilization of troops to ensure continued security and stability in the area.
The general situation in Bitta remains calm, although unpredictable.
