The President of the Defence and Police Officers Wives Association (DEPOWA), Mrs. Lilian Ogogo CG Musa, has launched a nationwide campaign titled 'Thank You to Our Troops'.
The campaign was flagged off on Monday at the 7 Division Military Hospital and Services in Borno State.
The campaign aims to highlight the sacrifices of frontline troops in Nigeria and offer support to troops wounded in action and families of fallen heroes.
Mrs. Musa emphasized that the 'Thank You to Our Troops' campaign is a heartfelt nationwide movement to honor the sacrifices of troops, telling soldiers and the Nigerian people that their courage is seen, their service is valued, and their sacrifices will never be forgotten.
The campaign begins in Borno State, considered the heart of the fight against insurgency.
As part of the campaign activities, Mrs. Musa and her entourage visited wounded troops at 7 Division Military Hospital and University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH).
She interacted with the wounded troops and offered support.
Mrs. Musa called on all Nigerians to join in saying thank you to the troops of the Nigerian military.
She emphasized that DEPOWA is committed to complementing government efforts in uplifting the living standards of widows, orphans, youths, and the less privileged in barracks communities and beyond.
Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum has pledged support for wounded soldiers and families of fallen heroes, aligning with the campaign's objectives.
