Eighty-four families of fallen police officers in Borno State have received a total of N63,408,653.59 as part of the Nigeria Police Force's Group Life Insurance and Family Welfare Scheme.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Thursday by the command's spokesman, ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso.
He said the disbursement was made by Borno State Commissioner of Police, CP Naziru Abdulmajid, who emphasized that the welfare of officers and their families remains a top priority for the force.
The beneficiaries include next-of-kin and family members of police officers who lost their lives while serving with courage and dedication.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Nana Goni expressed gratitude to the Inspector-General of Police for the compassionate gesture, assuring that the funds would be put to good use.
The IGP welfare scheme is a vital support system for families of fallen heroes, providing financial relief and moral support.
