The Alumni Association of Government College Maiduguri, Set 1998, have donated 116 sets of school uniforms to the victims of a recent fire incident in the school.
The donation was made on November 11, 2025 when the alumni group paid a sympathy visit to the school, led by Tijjani Adam Bagale, the Secretary General of the Set.
The group expressed their condolences to the management, staff, and students of the school over the unfortunate incident that occurred on November 1, 2025, at Yerimari House.
According to Bagale, the fire broke out while the students were out for their monthly sanitation exercise, resulting in the loss of their belongings.
The alumni's donation aims to provide some relief and support to the affected students.
This gesture demonstrates the alumni's commitment to giving back to their alma mater and supporting the current students in times of need.
The school administration has expressed gratitude to the alumni for their kindness and support, stating that it will go a long way in helping the affected students get back to their normal school activities.
