Hajiya Inna Galadima, the only female elected chairperson in Borno State's recent local government elections, has been sworn in as the chairperson of Jere Local Government Area for a second term after being reelected.
The ceremony took place at the Multipurpose Hall, Government House, Maiduguri, where Galadima and other newly elected chairmen and chairpersons of the 27 Local Government Areas were administered the oath of office by Hon. Justice Haruna Mshelia.
Dr. Umar Usman Kadafur, the deputy governor and acting governor, presided over the ceremony.
The commissioner of local government and emirate affairs, Hon. Segun Mai Mele, emphasized that absence would not be tolerated, stressing the need for leaders to be present and responsive to their people.
He urged the new leaders to govern with courage and fairness, ensuring they remain accessible to their constituents.
The Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Bukar, advised the chairmen to work closely with their communities to understand their needs, congratulating them on their victory and praying for their success.
