Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) have repelled coordinated terrorist attacks in Konduga, Marte, Jakana, and Mainok.

This was contained in a statement issued on Friday by the OPHK's spokesman, Lt. Col. Sani Uba.

According to him, the attacks, launched between 10:30 PM and 3:00 AM on Friday, were met with strong resistance from alert troops who held their defensive positions.

He said the troops executed flanking manoeuvres and counter-attacks, routing the attackers and forcing them to withdraw.

Several terrorist leaders, including key Amirs, were neutralised, and many insurgent fighters were eliminated.

He added that Air strikes were also conducted, further neutralising fleeing terrorists and degrading their fighting capability.

Unfortunately, some soldiers, including an officer, lost their lives in the line of duty. The fallen soldiers will be remembered for their bravery and sacrifice.

He assured that the Nigerian Armed Forces remain committed to defending the nation and protecting citizens.

The failed attacks come days after insurgents launched an attack in Ngoshe, a newly resettled town in Gwoza Local Government Area.

The latest development underscores the ongoing efforts of Operation HADIN KAI to secure the region and counter terrorist threats.

The operation remains in control of the battlespace, with ground troops conducting exploitation operations and recovering terrorist corpses, weapons, and equipment.
