Troops of Sector 1, Operation Hadin Kai have intercepted a suspected terrorist logistics network and arrested 6 suspects while recovering a large consignment of materials believed to be destined for insurgent elements in the North East.
In a statement issued on Monday, by Captain Mohammed Goni, acting military information officer, said the intelligence-led operation was conducted at about 4:00 p.m on Saturday, 19 July 2026 along a suspected terrorist logistics route.
During the covert stop-and-search operation, troops arrested 6 suspected logistics suppliers travelling in 5 vehicles.
Items recovered include 202 cartons of herbicides, one jerrycan of suspected acid, 1 Starlink wireless internet communication system, 6 bags of NPK fertilizer, 10 bags of rice, 50 hoes, and 20 packs of knapsack sprayer pumps.
The military said preliminary assessment indicates the consignment comprises materials with potential dual-use applications capable of supporting terrorist logistics, sustainment, mobility, and communications.
Particular attention will be given to the NPK fertilizer and suspected acid, which will undergo further technical and forensic examination to determine any possible use in the fabrication of Improvised Explosive Devices, IEDs.
'The seizure represents a significant disruption of suspected terrorist logistics networks and further degrades their ability to sustain operational activities,' the statement said.
The 6 suspects and all recovered items have been handed over to the military intelligence regiment for comprehensive investigation to establish the intended recipients and identify wider collaborators and sponsors.
Operation Hadin Kai noted that debriefings of rescued hostages and surrendered terrorist families indicate that sustained disruption of supply chains has significantly degraded terrorist operational capability.
It said shortages of food, medical supplies and communications equipment have forced many insurgents to abandon hostages, families and enclaves while fleeing military pressure.
The Theatre reaffirmed its resolve to continue targeting terrorists, their financiers, logistics suppliers, informants and collaborators to deny them resources and freedom of movement.
Members of the public were urged to support security agencies by providing timely and credible information on suspicious persons and movements to aid the restoration of lasting peace in the North East.
