Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), have killed 16 terrorists in a series of operations across Sector 4 in Adamawa State between September 30 and October 1, 2026.

This was disclosed in a statement on Thursday by Hadin Kai's spokesman, Capt. Mohammed Goni.

According to him, the operations began with a well-coordinated ambush by troops in the Boima general area of Gombi Local Government Area against a terrorist enclave, which resulted in the neutralisation of 16 terrorists.

He said exploitation of the area led to the recovery of three AK-47 rifles, two pump-action rifles, one Dane gun, six AK-47 magazines, and a belt of pump-action cartridges.

Reinforcing the ground operation, the Air Component of OPHK delivered a precision strike in the early hours of October 1, after an Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance platform detected about 16 terrorists assembling with 15 motorcycles under a tree canopy.

'The precision air interdiction was executed at 5:30 a.m., recording a direct hit. Subsequent Battle Damage Assessment confirmed the successful destruction of the target, while few surviving elements scattered in disarray,' the statement said.

The military added that troops also repelled coordinated attacks by insurgents on troop locations at 226 Battalion in Garkida and 232 Battalion in Garaha, forcing the assailants to withdraw.

'Regrettably, three brave soldiers paid the supreme sacrifice during the fierce battle, while wounded personnel were swiftly evacuated and are currently in stable condition,' Capt. Goni stated.

He said mop-up and exploitation operations are ongoing across the general area.

The Theatre Command said the successes come amid the ongoing rejigging of its headquarters to strengthen joint integration and operational synergy, noting that the renewed approach is already yielding results.
