The family of Ambassador Ahmed Algazali, OON, a distinguished Nigerian diplomat, has announced his passing at the age of 84.

Throughout his illustrious career, Ambassador Algazali served as the Nigerian Ambassador to Iran and Saudi Arabia, and as Chairman of the Federal Civil Service Commission.

The late ambassador came from a prominent family with deep roots in Nigeria's judicial and academic spheres.

He was the eldest son of revered Judge Khadi Alkali Gazali and brother to the late Professor Muhammad Nur Alkali, former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Maiduguri and chairman of the presidential advisory committee.

His siblings, the late Barr Ibrahim Gazali and late Mahdi Gazali Mni, also left a lasting impact.

The Al-Gazali family legacy continues through his surviving siblings, including Barr. Tijjani Gazali, SAN, and Barr. AlAmin Gazali.

The burial will take place today at 4:00 PM at the Gazali Family Masjid in Fezzan Ward, Maiduguri, following Islamic rites.

The family has requested prayers for Allah to grant the late Ambassador Ahmed Algazali Jannatul Firdauz (Paradise). Ameen.

This sad news was shared by Abdulhamid Al-Gazali, Editor-in-Chief of Yerwa Express News (YEN NG), who is also Ambassador Algazali's son.
