Borno State is poised for infrastructure development boost, following the unveiling of a N584,757,725,000 budget for 2025 by Governor Babagana Umara Zulum.
The presentation took place on Monday at the State Assembly Complex, Maiduguri.
The budget allocates N380,837,201,000 for capital projects, aimed at rebuilding and enhancing the state's infrastructure.
The 'budget of recovery and continuity' aims to drive growth in key areas such as roads, bridges, utilities, and other critical infrastructure.
The budget's focus on capital projects is expected to improve the state's transportation network, enhance economic activity, and create jobs.
While presenting the budget, Gov. Zulum emphasized the importance of investing in capital projects to drive economic growth and development.
'Our focus will be on rebuilding and enhancing our infrastructure.
'This will not only improve the lives of our citizens but also attract investment and create jobs,' he noted.
The governor highlighted the need for collective effort in achieving the state's development goals.
'Unity is crucial for the development of our state.
'We must all work together to ensure the success of this budget and the recovery of Borno,' Gov. Zulum said.
He also emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability in the implementation of the budget.
'Let us remain optimistic and committed to the principles that will guide us through these challenging times,' he added.
The governor commended the support from the Borno State House of Assembly, acknowledging the assembly's commitment to disaster recovery efforts and the allocation of necessary funds.
'I appreciate the assembly's support in our endeavor to rebuild what was lost and to create a more resilient Borno,' he added.
The budget now awaits legislative review and approval.
