Two talented young players from Eagle Stars Football Club in Maiduguri, Borno State, have received an invitation to participate in the upcoming TDS elite youth training camp for the Nigeria under-15 team in Abuja.

The players, a goalkeeper and a defender, will join batch A of the camp, which will take place from June 30 to July 6, 2025, at the FIFA Goal Project, MKO Abiola National Stadium.

The chairman of Eagle Star,s FC who is also the Executive Member and Chairman Disciplinary Committee of the Borno State Football Club Owners Association (BOSFCOA), Abubakar Abdulazeez (Bolori), expressed his excitement and confidence in the players' abilities.

'This is a welcome development and a great opportunity for the young talents to showcase their talent at the national level,' he said.

While thanking the Borno State Football Association (FA) Chairman and member of the Nigerian Football Federation Executive Committee representing the North East, Alhaji Babagana Kalli Kachalla (Ozogla) for his usual support, Bolori said 'Our boss, brother and a father has done it again. The FA chairman is always there for his people.

'We are thanking the FA Chairman for making this to happen, he is always supporting us in the state especially when such an opportunity comes, he will make sure that young talent from our state participated.'

Bolori added that he was recently appointed as the team manager of Borno State League Stars. A team of players selected among the state league division 1 clubs.

'This team was single-handedly sponsored by the FA Chairman. The football community in Borno State have seen rapid development recently.

'The FA Chairman has also promised and is delivering in helping the younths secure clubs in the elite league,' he noted.

He assured that his players will not let Ozogla down and expressed gratitude for the opportunity.

Ozogla has been instrumental in developing young talents in the state.

The invitation is a testament to the resilience and commitment of the players, who have overcome challenges posed by the Boko Haram insurgency.

The Eagle Star team is hopeful that their players will make it to the final selection for the under-15 national team.
