This week marks the first anniversary of Lake Chad Times, and I can’t help but feel proud and grateful to see a logo I designed standing as the face of their brand for the past year.

When I was approached to design their logo, I knew it had to be more than just a visual mark. It needed to capture identity, trust, and purpose. All the things a news outlet should stand for.

I remember sitting down with a blank page, jotting down words like clarity, voice, credibility, Lake Chad, connection.

From there, I started sketching ideas, playing with shapes, colors, and symbols that could carry meaning. I wanted something clean, professional, and timeless, yet rooted in the spirit of the region.

After rounds of brainstorming and refining, the final logo came together, a simple, recognizable and versatile enough to work across print and digital platforms. One of the proudest moments for me was during the Lake Chad Governor’s Forum in February 2025. Everywhere I turned, on banners, reports, and media coverage, I saw the Lake Chad Times logo. It was surreal to witness something I had once sketched on paper now being part of such a significant regional event.

This experience reminded me that design is not just about creativity, but about translating vision into something tangible that people connect with.

Congratulations to the Lake Chad Times team on one year of impactful storytelling. I am honored that my design has been part of your journey, and I look forward to seeing how the brand continues to grow in the years ahead.
