The highly anticipated Babagana Kalli Ozogola FA Cup 2025 is set to kick off on November 5, 2025, following a meeting organized by the strategic planning committee of Borno State Club Owner's Association (BOSFCOA).
The meeting, held at the Conference Hall, Mohammed Wakil School, Maiduguri, brought together key stakeholders, including the Borno State FA chairman, Babagana Kalli Ozogla, and executives of the BOSFCOA.
At the meeting, Ozogla expressed his appreciation to the organizers and pledged his commitment to supporting grassroots football in the state and the North East region.
He give out a token of N5000 for each participating team and N5000 for each BOSFCOA team executive.
He also donated a sum of N100,000 to organising committee of the tournament.
The FA chairman emphasized the importance of ensuring free, fair, and just officiating throughout the tournament, stressing that it's a friendly and peace tournament, rather than a "do or die" competition.
He also urged the organizers to conduct a seminar workshop for participating clubs to ensure a smooth and hitch-free tournament.
While responding, the chairman of the strategic planning committee, Abubakar Abdul Azeez (Bolori), thanked Ozogla for his support and revealed that the kick-off date had been revised to November 5, 2025, a week after the initial slated date.
'We appreciated our boss (Ozogla) for his continued support to the grassroots football in the state,' Bolori said.
He urged participating teams to exercise patience throughout the tournament.
