In a recent radio interview, Prof. Usman Tar, Borno State Commissioner of Information and Internal Security, shared insights into the state's significant progress in peace, security, and development.
Prof. Tar highlighted the ministry's renewed focus on peace-building and development, working closely with the armed forces and Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) to enhance security.
He praised the armed forces' contributions to securing Borno State and the Northeast region, leading to improved security and stabilization.
The commissioner also emphasized the crucial role of the Borno State Security Council in managing state security and reported successful resettlement efforts, with many internally displaced persons (IDPs) and refugees returning home.
He attributed this progress to collaborative efforts between the state government, armed forces, and stakeholders.
He noted a resurgence in economic growth, driven by the return of peace and stability.
'Agriculture and trade are thriving once again in Borno State,' he said.
The Borno State Peace, Reconciliation, and Development Programme has also encouraged mass exits of insurgents, contributing to the state's progress.
