In a surprise move, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Media & Publicity, has resigned to focus on urgent health matters affecting his immediate family.

Ngelale, who also served as the President's official spokesperson, special presidential envoy on climate action, and chairman of the presidential steering committee on project evergreen, announced his decision on Saturday via a statement on his Facebook page.

According to the statement, Ngelale had informed the chief of staff to the president, Femi Gbajabiamila, of his intention to proceed on an indefinite leave of absence to address the 'vexatious medical situation' affecting his family.

Ngelale expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve the nation but stated that his family's health issues required his immediate attention.

He requested privacy for his family during this challenging time and looked forward to returning to national service when possible.

The sudden resignation of Ngelale, a key figure in the Tinubu administration, has raised eyebrows in political circles.

The President's office has yet to comment on the development or announce a replacement for Ngelale's roles.

Ngelale's decision to prioritize his family's health highlights the importance of personal well-being and family care, even in high-pressure roles.
