Dr. Halima Gambo, a Senior Lecturer at the University of Maiduguri and advocate for gender-related issues, has welcomed the launch of Lake Chad Times, formerly TwentyOne a women-led media organization focused on amplifying the voices of vulnerable groups in North East Nigeria.

During a courtesy visit on Friday by the Lake Chad Times delegation, led by Editor-in-Chief Abdulkadir M Lawan, he informed Dr. Gambo that the media organization is dedicated to reporting on issues around women, children, and other vulnerable groups in relation to their education, health, and livelihood.

'We felt that women and children are the most vulnerable groups in our society and they have been underreported, so we are here to bridge the gaps,' he explained.

Dr. Gambo emphasized the importance of gender equity over equality.

'Women who seek to be equal to men are underachievers, judging by the complexity of tasks women can handle,' she said.

She commended Lake Chad Times' focus on promoting education while preserving traditional values and assured her support and assistance in health, education, and social issues.

The visit demonstrates Lake Chad Times' commitment to collaborating with influential voices like Dr. Gambo to drive positive change in North East Nigeria.
