The Nigerian military has announced the elimination of three high-profile Boko Haram/Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) leaders in fierce gunbattles in Mallam Fatori and Buratai, Borno State.

The leaders, identified as Amir Abu Ali, Amir Ibunu, and Amir Abu Waldume, were killed during a coordinated operation by ground troops and air components of Operation Hadin Kai.

This paper had reported earlier that the terrorists launched an early morning terrorist attack in Buratai, Biu Local Government Area, and Mallam Fatori, Abadam Local Government Area.

The troops repelled the attack, killing an undisclosed number of terrorists and recovering arms and ammunition.

The successful operation is a significant blow to the terrorist group, and the military's efforts to restore peace and stability in the region.

The elimination of these prominent leaders is expected to disrupt the group's command structure and further weaken their ability to carry out attacks.

The Nigerian military continues to work tirelessly to ensure the safety and security of citizens and prevent terrorist activities in the region.
