The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has conducted an airstrike on a key terrorist enclave in the Lake Chad region, neutralizing several terrorists and destroying vital logistics infrastructure.
According to a statement from the NAF, the operation, carried out on June 9, 2025, in Bukar Meram, a known terrorist stronghold and training hub, was based on credible intelligence reports.
The statement said, the airstrike, part of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), aimed to disrupt terrorist activities and avert planned attacks on the communities of Marte and Monguno.
A Battle Damage Assessment (BDA) confirmed the operation's success, noting that it effectively disrupted imminent threats to civilian populations in the areas.
The statement added that the strike destroyed supply vehicles, arms storage facilities, and makeshift shelters, dealing a significant blow to the terrorist group's operational capacity.
Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information at NAF Headquarters, reaffirmed the Force's commitment to national security, stating that the NAF remains resolute in its mandate to protect the sovereignty of the nation and ensure lasting peace and security.
