In the wake of the recent devastating floods, the Borno State Government has issued a stern warning to the public to prioritize their health, hygiene, and security.

The government cautioned citizens against engaging in harmful practices that could exacerbate the health and safety risks associated with the disaster.

According to the Borno State ministry of information and internal security, members of the public are advised to:

Desist from consuming contaminated grains or food items salvaged from flooded stores, as they pose serious health risks.

Refrain from handling, distributing, or consuming dead animals, which are poisonous.

Avoid pilfering, vandalizing, or tampering with public or private property.

Not consume, swim, or bathe in dirty or stagnant water, as it contains harmful chemicals and pathogens, even after boiling.

The government emphasized that violating these guidelines will result in severe consequences, including facing the full force of the law.

This warning comes as the state struggles to recover from the devastating floods, which have left thousands displaced and vulnerable to health risks.

The Borno State Government urged citizens to take responsibility for their personal health and hygiene and to report any suspicious activities or breaches of security to the authorities.

By taking these precautions, the government aims to mitigate the risks associated with the flood disaster and ensure the safety and well-being of all citizens.

The public is advised to remain vigilant and cooperate with the authorities to prevent further harm.

This warning is part of the government's efforts to protect the public and maintain order in the aftermath of the disaster.
