In a bid to restore dignity and provide essential support to vulnerable children, the North East Development Commission (NEDC) in collaboration with Ubola Rural Community Foundation has distributed 600 dignity kits to vulnerable children in Adamawa State.
The dignity kits, which include sanitary pads, hair cream, sanitary towels, underwear, and mats, are designed to provide vulnerable children with the essential items they need to maintain their dignity.
The distribution of the kits is part of a larger initiative aimed at improving the lives of vulnerable children in the state.
Adamawa State Deputy Governor, Prof. Kaletapwa George Farauta, who was represented by the commissioner for transport, Wunfe Anthony, commended the NEDC and Ubola Rural Community Foundation for their commitment to supporting vulnerable children in the state.
Prof. Farauta emphasized that the state government is committed to ensuring the well-being of all citizens, especially the vulnerable.
The event also featured the launch of an awareness campaign and the 'Equality Wins' program, a core humanitarian initiative aimed at improving the lives of vulnerable children.
The project also serves as a means of economic empowerment for the beneficiaries. Dr. Omede Ogu, Technical Assistant Lead at Ubola Rural Community Foundation, explained that the initiative was designed to restore hope and dignity to those who have been affected by the devastating impact of insurgency in the North East region.
