A significant step towards empowering internally displaced persons (IDPs) has been taken with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the National Commission for Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCRIDP) and the National Agricultural Land Development Agency (NALDA).

The partnership aims to equip IDPs with agricultural skills and resources, enabling them to become self-sufficient and contribute to the nation's food security.

This initiative is part of the renewed hope restoration project, which seeks to address the challenges faced by vulnerable populations.

Sen. Kaka Shehu Lawan, chairman of the senate committee on special duties, on Wednesday, witnessed the signing ceremony.

The MOU will facilitate the implementation of various agricultural programs, including training, input distribution, and access to land and credit.

By empowering IDPs with agricultural skills, the government hopes to not only improve their livelihoods but also contribute to the overall economic development of the country.
