Children, women, and other vulnerable groups in Dikwa Local Government Area of Borno State are set to benefit from a new 100-bed capacity general hospital.

These groups, particularly in rural areas, are often the most frequent users of healthcare facilities, making this development a boost to their well-being.

Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, has launched the construction of the hospital and a market complex in the area.

The hospital will feature modern medical equipment and specialized units to address various health challenges faced by the community.

According to the governor, the hospital will offer comprehensive medical services, including emergency care, maternal health, and outpatient services, to residents of Dikwa and surrounding areas.

This development is particularly crucial in an insurgency-ravaged community like Dikwa, where years of conflict have compromised healthcare infrastructure and access to basic services. The new hospital will help bridge the healthcare gap, providing a lifeline to those who need it most.

The governor said the project is part of the state government's efforts to restore stability, improve healthcare, and boost economic activities in areas affected by the over decade-long insurgency.

He charged contractors to ensure compliance with all engineering specifications.

The project is expected to improve the healthcare system and economic well-being of the people in Dikwa and its environs.
