Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, has called on the Nigerian Army to take drastic action against individuals, including women and public figures, who collaborate with Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists in the state.

The governor made the appeal during a joint Sallah luncheon organized by the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) at Maimalari Cantonment in Maiduguri on Saturday, where he interacted, dined, and wined with senior military officers.

According to Gov. Zulum, collaborators pose a greater threat than the terrorists themselves.

'To me, the collaborators are more deadly than the terrorists, so anyone found guilty of collaborating with the terrorists, even if it is a woman or a public figure, should be dealt with ruthlessly,' he said.

He expressed gratitude to the armed forces for their commitment and bravery in combating terrorism in the state and the North East region.

He also donated N100 million to support wounded soldiers and the families of those who have lost their lives in the line of duty.

The governor reaffirmed his administration's continued support for the military in their efforts to end terrorism in the region.

The Sallah luncheon, attended by top military officers, the Shehu of Borno, and other dignitaries, featured cultural performances and provided an opportunity for the military leadership to interact with frontline troops.

The event highlight military's efforts to boost morale and recognize the sacrifices of troops fighting against terrorism.
