In a show of solidarity and support, four governors from various states in Nigeria visited Maiduguri to assist victims of the recent devastating flood that ravaged the region.
The visiting governors were led by Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazak of Kwara State and included governors from Lagos State, Ondo State, and Adamawa State.
During their visit, Ahmadu Fintiri, Governor of Adamawa State, donated N50 million (fifty million naira) to support the flood victims.
'We are committed to supporting our brothers and sisters in Borno State during this difficult time. We will do everything possible to alleviate their suffering,' Gov. Fintiri said.
Muktari Aliyu Betara, Member representing Biu, Bayo, Kwaya-Kusar, and Shani Federal constituency, donated N100 million (one hundred million naira) to alleviate the suffering of the affected communities.
'We cannot afford to stand by and watch our people suffer. We must come together to support those in need,' the law maker said.
Governor Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno State welcomed the visiting governors and expressed his gratitude for their support and solidarity.
'We are grateful for the support and assistance from our brother governors and Betara. Together, we will work to alleviate the suffering of our people and rebuild our communities,' he said.
The donated funds will be used to provide relief materials, medical care, and other essential services to those affected by the floods.
The visit is a testament to the unity and cooperation among Nigerian leaders in times of crisis.
